MARITIME SECTOR
We supply materials that can endure the harsh marine environment including steel bars and high-strength flanges used in ship engines, shaft systems, deck machinery, and piping circuits.
Sector Overview
The maritime sector is one of the industries requiring steel materials to perform under the most severe conditions. Saltwater corrosion, dynamic loads, vibration, and extended maintenance intervals demonstrate that steels used in shipbuilding must be superior in both mechanical and chemical properties. At Aktif Celik, we meet the material needs of shipyards and offshore projects.
Quenched and tempered steels such as 42CrMo4 and 34CrNiMo6 are used for ship propeller shafts; S355J2+N structural steels for deck machinery and crane mechanisms; and 316L stainless and CuNi alloys for seawater circuits. For offshore platforms, high-yield, low-temperature tough steels like S460NL are preferred.
In maritime material procurement, classification society (Lloyd's, DNV GL, Bureau Veritas, ABS) certifications are of great importance. Our supplied products are manufactured and certified in accordance with these organizations' requirements. Material certificates (3.1/3.2), chemical analysis, and mechanical test reports are provided with all shipments.
For your shipyard projects and offshore investments, we continue to be your strong solution partner in the supply of steel bars, flanges, and fittings in appropriate grades and dimensions.
